Latvia residence permit through company investment
A Latvian temporary residence permit for investors is granted for up to five years to non-EU, non-EEA nationals who invest in the share capital of a Latvian company. The usual threshold is EUR 50,000, or EUR 100,000 for larger companies.
Updated
The company is not a shell: it must meet size criteria and pay a minimum level of Latvian taxes each year, commonly cited at EUR 40,000, and the investment has to stay in place for the life of the permit. The applicant also shows personal means of support, set at EUR 780 a month for the company route in 2026, with lower amounts for a spouse and children.
The permit is re-registered each year and can lead to permanent residence after five years, subject to a Latvian language test and other conditions. Applications from citizens of Russia and Belarus face restrictions.
