WISE vs Revolut
Wise and Revolut solve different problems. This video compares their roles in international transfers and day-to-day banking, and explains why neither should become the single point of failure in a global financial setup.
Transcript excerpt
Wise and Revolut are two different financial institutions. They both aim at different markets. They have different use cases. Wise is a money transfer services. It's almost like an infrastructure layer underneath or even on top of banks that you can send and receive money from different people. Wise is there if you just want to send and receive payments as an ecosystem effect similar to crypto where the more people who are using Wise, the easier it gets. If you go to Asia, Thailand, Vietnam, all these places, sometimes you see that they do have Wise accounts you can pay. Whereas Revolut's going for more of a traditional bank. So, Revolut is going after credit, lending, interest, investing, crypto, all of these different products. So, Revolut is built more for replacing your traditional bank rather than actually providing a money transfer service. So, Revolut versus Wise, there's no clear winner. Ideally, you can have both. Wise services more markets, but you use Wise for money transfers and Revolut for holding your funds and investing and this sort of stuff. Hopefully, that settles it. Wise versus Revolut, the answer is not one is better than the other. The answer is both.
